QIVOM
QIVOM — Hamburg Register for Intravitreal Injection Therapies
Clinical Registry | University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) | Published 2022
Intravitreal drug delivery belongs to the most common medical procedures in Germany, with approximately 1.5 million treatments per year. Despite the scale of this intervention, systematic empirical data on treatment processes, clinical outcomes, and patient-reported experiences were largely absent.
Swiss4ward developed the technical infrastructure for QIVOM — a centralised electronic registry capturing both patient-reported outcomes and clinical parameters across three major Hamburg eye clinics: Asklepios Kliniken Nord-Heidberg, Asklepios Barmbek, and the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE).
The registry platform enabled structured, multi-centre data collection on intravitreal injection therapies as part of routine clinical care — covering treatment processes, clinical results, and the subjective patient experience of underlying retinal disease including age-related macular degeneration.
Swiss4ward's role
Swiss4ward designed and built the central electronic database underpinning the QIVOM registry, enabling the secure collection, storage, and analysis of both clinical and patient-reported data across multiple participating institutions. The technical infrastructure was developed specifically to support the registry's patient-centred methodology and multi-centre structure.
